Manoj Pilli grew up at Ongole, a town in Andhra Pradesh. School was a beautiful time where his interests in art was acknowledged and nurtured. After completing BFA in ‘Sculpture and Visual Communication’ from Jawaharlal Nehru Fine Arts and Architecture University, Hyderabad, the desire to explore glass brought him to the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad where he did his post graduation in ‘Ceramics and Glass Design’. Aptitude for design developed here at NID and thanks to the holistic and fluid nature of education, he explored many skills. Currently he works with various crafts though development projects and the co-founder at Studio Glassic. His body of work is a free interplay of art, craft and design. He works hands-on in green materials like clay, metal, wood and glass and regards Nature and Material as his biggest inspirations.
