Dohar, a group of folk musicians, took birth in 1999. Dohar is a musical group of international repute – a platform for musicians, who consider this world as a musical bonanza and intend to energise its inhabitants with the melodious power of folk tunes and Tagore songs as two main pillars of Indian music. Dohar presents 30-35 different forms of traditional folk songs from various parts of West Bengal, Bangladesh and North East, accompanied with various ethnic folk instruments. The Dohar has an archive of nearly 6000 folklore songs and have released nine music albums from concord, Sony Music, Sa Re Ga Ma HMY and Orion Entertainment etc. Dohar curated many musical reality shows as well as directed and playbacks in many feature films. Dohar is a regularly nominated performer of EZCC, Kolkata, under Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of India.
Dhun Mela is a folk song extravaganza bringing together groups of musicians and dancers from Goa, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Bengal and Manipur.
