ARTIST

Renowned choreographer Rukmini Chatterjee’s artistic quest is to bring forth the universal in mankind. She does this by bringing cultures, art forms, artists from across the globe together in her choreographies. Her work has been greatly influenced by Upanishadic thoughts, her guru Mrinalini Sarabhai’s artistic vision and her life in Paris.

Her choreographies have been performed to critical acclaim in prestigious venues across the world : Oslo Opera House, Royal Opera house-London, Châteauvallon theatre, Maison des métallos-Paris, Future Theatre-Beijing, as well as international festivals like the Quartier d’été-Paris, the Biennale of Lyon, the Lille 3000, Venice Biennale, Lancang-Mekong Arts Festival-Kunming, Nou le Morne-Mauritius, Serendipity Arts Festival-Goa and others. Since 2014 she continues her quest being the artistic director of the international Connections Festival, which brings outstanding performances from across the globe to Delhi, hosted by the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
