About

Serendipity Arts Foundation and Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art announce an open call for artists based in India to share proposals for public art projects to be showcased in the city of Panjim, Goa, during the Serendipity Arts Festival 2024.

INTAKE

The grant will be awarded to 4 artists practicing in India, with the amount of upto INR 5 lakhs* each.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 25 years and above
  • Applicant(s) should be practicing in India for at least the last 5 years 
  • The Grant is open to individuals, artist duos, artist collaborations or artist collectives 
  • Projects should be multi- or cross-disciplinary in nature and may include work from the performing, visual, media, design, and literary arts.
  • Projects must be large in scale, adapted to public contexts 

Application Guidelines

  • Holistic project proposal outlining research / production / documentation.
  • The proposal should include a preliminary sketch to explain how the project may look in scale, site and context. We understand that this can drastically change upon the site allocation. The site allocation is subject to change if it not viable in that space
  • The applicant can define the kind of site they have in mind within Panjim in their proposal. A list of venues will be provided once we receive all the proposals. The site will be handed over to the artist based on permission.
  • All the requested documents/pdf to be uploaded onto a Google drive with open access and drive link to be included in the application form.

  • Application form
  • Bio [200 words] and CV – (single pdf)
  • Project Proposal [500 words] + Budget Breakup [sample attached] + Statement of Intent [300 words] + Portfolio of past work (single pdf – upto 15mb)

Terms & Conditions

  • The main applicant can collaborate with others and the involvement of the collaborator must be included in the proposal. However, only a single agreement with the main applicant will be signed.
  • If the proposed project has secured funding already,  the applicant can still apply; the institutions will mention the support in the collaterals in a reasonable manner.
  • In the case of an engagement-based project, it should be completed by December 23rd.
  • The budget will encompass all aspects from ideation to final production on site. SAF will be responsible only for permissions, security and housekeeping**
  • For projects that intend to stay on for a longer duration, consideration of material and maintenance need to be taken into the budget.
  • The grant allocated to the artist will be based on the budget they present for the project.
  • SAF will not be providing stay / travel reimbursements.
