Folios of Time 3.0

Open Call for Indian Dance Artists

Curated by Ashley Lobo

Folios of Time, originally conceived by Jayachandran Palazhy for the Serendipity Arts Festival 2024, was established as a platform to support emerging contemporary choreographers through mentorship, experimentation, and artistic exchange. Since its inception, the programme has fostered the development of new choreographic practices while encouraging artists to engage critically with contemporary ideas.

With Folios of Time 3.0, the programme enters a new chapter under the curatorship of Ashley Lobo. Building on the foundation of the original initiative, this edition focuses on the refinement of works already in development, creating a structured environment for artistic dialogue, critical feedback, and sustained mentorship.

Through an open call, three choreographers from across India will be selected to further develop and present original 15–20 minute solo works. During the mentorship phase, each artist will share a live presentation of a full-length draft with invited mentors and advisors, followed by in-depth critique and discussion. This process is designed to strengthen each work while respecting and preserving the choreographer’s distinct artistic voice.

The programme culminates in the presentation of the completed works at the Serendipity Arts Festival, offering artists the opportunity to premiere their creations before a wider audience. By bringing together mentorship, critical exchange, and performance, Folios of Time 3.0 continues its commitment to advancing contemporary dance practice in India and supporting the next generation of choreographic voices.
