OPEN CALL: FOOD X PLAY

Do you have a game that plays with food? Or an idea that turns the table on how we think about what’s on our plate?

Edible Issues is curating a special space at Serendipity Arts Festival 2025 –  and we’re looking for food-themed games that inspire creativity, spark conversations, and unpack the complexities of our food systems in playful, engaging ways.

We’re inviting designers, artists, educators, chefs, food nerds, and creative collectives to submit concepts or ready-to-play games that explore food through the lens of:

  • Climate & sustainability
  • Food histories & futures
  • Culture & memory
  • Access & equity
  • Food tech & speculation
  • From board games and card decks to all things offline that spark joy, invite connection, and get people thinking about our food systems — while having a little fun along the way!

What we’re looking for:

  • Games or interactive experiences centred around food themes
  • Play formats that educate, inspire, or provoke thought about food systems
  • Works that are accessible and inclusive for festival audiences
  • Original concepts or existing works open for public showcase

Selected games will be a part of Food x Play under Edible Issues’ curation at the Serendipity Arts Festival 2025 in December.
