INTRODUCTION

Since its inception, Serendipity Arts Foundation has been committed to supporting the evolving practice of performance art. These projects have been showcased at Serendipity Arts Festival since 2016, and include Lucid Sleep; The Ground Beneath My Feet; Out of Turn; and Concrete Skies. In September 2017, in collaboration with HH Art Spaces, Asia Art Archive and the Fine Art Faculty at the MSU Baroda, a Body Workshop and series of talks titled “After Event: Performance Art and its Mediation” took place at MSU Baroda.

Serendipity Arts Foundation was very pleased to have supported 2019–2020 Artist in Residence Nikhil Chopra at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York between September 12-20, 2019.

Lands, Waters, and Skies

“Lands, Waters, and Skies” is a live performance by Indian artist Nikhil Chopra, created for The Met’s galleries. For nine consecutive days, Chopra will inhabit various personae and interact with The Met collection. Akin to a nomadic traveler, Chopra will move through the Museum, following an itinerary of his own making that will query the Museum’s own organizational principles and logic.
