Bridge Bharat introduces ‘Songs of Day and Night’, a textile installation that is a unique iteration of Gond art with traditional embroidery of Chamba Rumal and Chikankari. This materialistic intervention allows us to experience and read into the living traditions of these art forms, their songs, and folktales with the tactility of embroidery traditions.

The Infinite Forest is a project that explores craft forms and craftsmanship in contemporary forms and materiality through the mastery of artisans working with four different design collectives showcasing Dhokra art (non-ferrous metal casting using lost wax techniques); jute work, and textile.

Kasuti, a centuries-old delicate and intricate embroidery art from Karnataka, India, embodies the creativity and storytelling of generations of women. Originating in the 6th century, this craft has been passed down through familial bonds, preserving the rich cultural heritage of North Karnataka.

Start from a single point, a compass point if you will. An imaginary direction tugged along magnetic latitudes, longitudes, ley lines, fault lines, and boundary lines. Imagine moving outwards to create a web of connections, possibilities, and imaginary landscapes.

Theatrical performances have long been a vibrant part of Goan life, transcending religious and cultural lines. Whether through the sharp satire of Tiatr or the historical reverence of Aitihasik Natak, Goan theatre reflects the complex interplay between identity, nostalgia, and regional belonging.

This project documents the tpu-wasain, an indigenous rice-cake within the Jaintia community in Meghalaya. Through photography and moving-image, the tpu-wasain’s connection to sisterhood, womanhood, and the land is highlighted within the matrilineal tribal Jaintia community.

In this mural, the central theme being explored is that of a visual tapestry where multiple stories and narratives come together to form a cohesive portrayal of the intersection of disability, time, rest, and their interaction with queer realities.
