One of the key mandates of Serendipity Arts Foundation is the creation of alternative and irregular spaces for art within the ecosystem of culture in India. Following this directive, Serendipity Arts Foundation founded C340, Defence Colony – a basement space in a residential area in Delhi that functions as a platform for artistic programmes, creative collaborations and educational initiatives in New Delhi.

C340 aims to be space that can adapt itself to various projects, thereby addressing the need for alternative space for culture in Delhi. It is a small, multifaceted area in the foundation office that is suitable for a range of art programmes – exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, temporary artist studios, performances etc. The malleable nature of the basement compels such programmes to create new typologies and small spatial experiments that enable an experiential way of looking at the arts.
