INTRODUCTION
Reclamation Ground was a carryover of “The Ground Beneath My Feet”, a project dedicated to performance art that was developed in collaboration with Serendipity Arts Foundation, HH Art Spaces, and Asia Art Archive in India. Nine artists from around the world presented site-specific works on a 229 ft. barge docked on the Mandovi river during the Serendipity Arts Festival between 15-22 December 2017.
Reclamation Ground brought together new iterations of four works of art that went into the making of the project in Goa. This exhibition was a reconstruction of fragments from the barge invoking the precarious fragments of land surrounded by rising oceans and migrating populations, and included a performance by Bangladeshi performance artist Kabir Ahmed Masum Chisty on March 19th & 20th
