Serendipity at G20

Conversant with the peculiarities of various painting styles, Padma Shri Jai Prakash has discovered and revived the practice of using mineral colours and beetle wings. Far from copying the traditional style, he has successfully used the techniques and ethos to create original compositions on canvas. A self-taught miniature artist who received the National Award in India in 1998 for his delicate brushwork and attention to detail, the artist is adept in several schools and styles of Indian miniature painting including Kangra, Guler, Basohli, Malwa, and Bundi.
